Ramy Francis
He started in production at fifteen, in his father's world. He has been getting crews in and out of Egypt ever since.
The son of an Egyptian film producer, Ramy graduated from the High Institute of Cinema in Cairo and began as a producer's assistant. He has since produced feature films, documentaries, high-profile interviews, news stories, TV programmes, advertisements and music videos across Egypt and the wider MENA region — hand-selecting crews and kit, building budgets, assessing risk, running logistics, scouting locations and developing stories.
He is known for advance planning that holds up, and for solving the thing that goes wrong on the day.
- 1989Graduates from the High Institute of Cinema, Cairo. Begins as a producer's assistant.
- 2000Moves to Los Angeles as a freelance production coordinator — music videos and news for local production houses.
- 2002Works on the Hollywood feature Seabiscuit, then returns to Cairo.

- 2011–13Covers the Egyptian revolution and Libya for international news. Keeps crews working through the second Tahrir uprising.
